Maecò Ortigia B&B
Maecò Ortigia B&B is located in via Landolina n.5, as part of the Palazzo Francica Nava which was originally built in the 15th century in the Catalan Gothic style.
Following the devastating earthquake of 1693 the building was rebuilt with some Baroque additions and used by Jesuits until it was bought by the Francica Nava family, from which it still retains the name.
The renovation, completed at the beginning of 2016, followed the coherence of the original architecture with the intention being to keep alive the typical Sicilian atmosphere, and recreate a place to feel at home.
One of my main philosophies of life and work is based on achieving comfort, but not without thinking of respect and protection of the environment. Following this vision, I have provided Maecò Ortigia B&B with heating and air conditioning system environmentally friendly, electronic devices with low energy consumption, Led enlightenment, thermic and acoustic isolation by replacing doors, windows and walls with a new generation of isolating materials, and any other detail that could help to achieve the energetic optimization and the highest level of quality.
Welcome, I’m Martina, the owner of Maecò Ortigia B&B. In 2015, after many years of study and working in the tourism industry in Italy and abroad, I decided to return home to Syracuse in Sicily and create my own business. If you have planned a trip to Syracuse don’t miss the opportunity to spend a memorable stay in the heart of the historical city centre: the island of Ortygia, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. I will be happy to welcome you into my house, situated only few steps from the Piazza del Duomo, regarded as one of the most beautiful piazzas in all of Italy and surrounded by some of the most famous attractions in the city.
