Ortygia, like many other historical centres, is subject to a Zona a Traffico Limitata (ZTL) or Limited Traffic Area. Because Maecò Ortigia B&B is located in the heart of Ortygia there are implications concerning the availability of parking space.
Upon your arrival to Ortygia you will find a traffic light located at the entrance of the island. Entering the island with the car is forbidden every day after 20.00, at any time during the weekend and always when the traffic light is red. In this situation, in the case of loading and unloading of your luggage, if you let us know your number plate at your arrival, we can inform the local authorities and avoid any inconvenient fines.
Also, it is not possible to park inside areas marked with yellow lines or in the presence of signs indicating a residential or authorized area. On the plus side, it is possible to park in the pay and display car parks listed below and inside the fee-paying parking bays marked by blue lines.
